seafront 'period style'

loft

This seafront house had a large unused loft space that was ripe for conversion. The ceilings were high enough to convert the room without the need for a full width dormer, so the owner opted for a small dormer window to the rear and large conservation style velux windows to the front.

In the bedroom, we exposed the original collar ties and set the new ceiling above them to create a ceiling feature, and the client had an old fireplace that she wanted us to install. Reclaimed floorboards were laid, sanded and stained.

In the bathroom, the floor joists were reinforced to take a cast iron roll-top bath, then the reclaimed floorboards were stained white.

WHAT

Loft conversion with dormer window to create large bedroom and separate bathroom.
